Total Lunar Eclipse in Arizona

But Clouds and Rain Might Spoil It

The evening of Wednesday October 27th is when Arizonans might see a spectacular total eclipse of the moon. I say might because a storm moving in from the Pacific will bring clouds and showers to the state and may steal the show. Check the latest clouds by going to our web cam page here:

Web cams and satellite picture

The infrared satellite picture in the middle of our web cam page will tell the story. If it is bright white or there are some colors of red, pink and purple it means the clouds are over us. However, this eclipse is still worth looking for since the eclipsed moon may poke in and out of the clouds for over an hour. Here are the details:

Partial Eclipse Begins 6:14 pm

Total Eclipse Begins 7:23 pm

Total Eclipse Ends 8:45 pm

Partial Eclipse Ends 9:54 pm

In the above picture, times are shown in Pacific Daylight which is the same as mountain standard time. You can read more about the eclipse from NASA at:

The NASA Eclipse Home Page

According to the baseball experts I have heard, this is the first time an eclipse has occurred during a World Series Game. However, rain and fog is in the forecast for St. Louis, so baseball fans may not get to see the show either.

If you get a good picture of the eclipse, forward it to me and I will post it here on this page after the eclipse.

Please feel free to forward this page to your friends and relatives.
