The U.S. Marshals Service was seeking the following fugitive. He was captured by Phoenix Police in late February, 2004.

 

Wanted for:                       Probation Violation

Original Charge:               Transferring a Firearm

 

NAME:                             Carlos Rene SALAZAR

Hair:                                    Brown

DOB:                                  02/26/1979

POB:                                   San Diego, CA

HGT:                                   6'02”

WGT:                                  240 lbs.

Tattoos/Scars:                 “Salazar” on back; dragon and demon on left calf; bullet wounds on right shoulder and left forearm; “CRS” on left hand

 

On June 24,2000, SALAZAR was arrested in Wyoming by U.S. Customs for Transferring a Firearm.   He was convicted of the crime January 11, 2001 and spent more than a year in federal prison.   SALAZAR was released from Custody on February 1, 2002, and was subsequently place on supervised release for three years.

 

On March 3, 2002, SALAZAR was arrested by the Phoenix Police Department for Extreme Driving Under the Influence (DUI).   He served 30 days in jail for the DUI.   Upon his release from custody he failed to appear in Court, and he did not reported to his County or Federal Probation Officers.   Subsequently, SALAZAR has a Federal arrest warrant for Probation Violation issued on February 4, 2004 by the United States District Court of Arizona.   SALAZAR is also wanted by Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for Failure to Appear.

 

SALAZAR is a member of the Santa Rosa Varios 21 st Avenue gang.   He has extensive family ties in the Phoenix area.   SALAZAR has worked in several body shops around the valley.   His criminal history also includes Larceny.
