Wanted for:              Probation Violation             

Original Charge:      Theft of Mail

In February 2001, MATA was arrested for possession of stolen mail, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. In October 2001, MATA was convicted of possession of stolen mail, and received a sentence of 5 years probation.   MATA was arrested in March 2001 and September 2001 for probation violation, serving a total of 27 days in jail.   In December 2001 MATA violated probation again by using methamphetamine and failing to complete drug treatment. Subsequently, a warrant for MATA's arrest was issued by the United States District Court in Phoenix.

 

MATA's numerous arrests include probation violation, failure to appear, fraud, theft, possession of stolen mail, possession of narcotics, and for questioning in a double shooting involving an associate of MATA.   MATA has extensive family ties to Phoenix and the surrounding areas.   MATA is known to be in the following areas:   16 th Street and Cedar, Tempe; and Power and Main, Mesa.

 

OFFICER SAFETY WARNING: MATA is a known drug abuser and has a history of weapons possession.   Subject is aware of the existing warrant.   Consider subject armed and dangerous.

 

Anyone with information regarding MATA should call the U.S. Marshals Service (602) 382-8767.   Individuals who provide information can remain anonymous. A reward is available for information leading to the arrest of MATA.
