The Hoover Dam Bypass has had a setback due to a construction accident, but Doug Nintzel from ADOT says they are working hard to get back on schedule.
Cell phone always attached to you? Jody Owen from "The Space You're In"  has some gentle reminders and tips for cell phone etiquette.
Sure the Texas Rangers are famous. But the Arizona Rangers are a big part of our history, too. Marshall Trimble, AZ Official State Historian, has this week's Trimble's Tale about Burt Mossman, Arizona Ranger.
A nice bonus from Arizona Game and Fish this week. Rory Aikens, the public information officer tells us about the bonus trout you'll find in some of our high country lakes.
Dave Owens, the Garden Guy says you don't have to grab for the nasty chemicals to get the pests under control. Natural insecticides are the way to go.
Dr. Mark Bierner from the Boyce Thompson Arboretum is positively giddy about the monsoon rains they have gotten. The butterfly research is in full swing, the birds are singing and you can even pick up a copy of Ed's Arizona Almanac, too.
J is for Jupiter? Tony LaConte from Stargazing for Everyone isn't trying out for Sesame Street, but he has some great stuff this week about the giant planet.

With the monsoon upon us, Dr. Mark Bierner from the Boyce Thompson Arboretum is in to remind us about the cool morning walks since they get so much more rain at the Arboretum. They are open all summer long, but close in the afternoon before the hottest part of the day.
State Route 51 in about to undergo a facelift. Doug Nintzel from ADOT tells us about the road closures associated with the installation of HOV lanes from Shea Blvd. to the 101 interchange.
How about a family fun night? Jody Owen from "The Space You're In"  has some ideas that the whole family can enjoy that don't involve TV shows and video games.
He rode with Teddy Roosevelt and was famous in his day here in Arizona. Marshall Trimble, AZ Official State Historian, has the story of one of our most colorful characters, Bucky O'Neill.
Dave Owens, the Garden Guy says your either have them or you don't. And you can see them in the dark with a black light. Scorpions bite a lot more of us than rattlesnakes and the little critters are everywhere.
How many moons did you learn when you studied the solar system in school? Tony LaConte, Stargazing for Everyone answers the question from the mailbag. I bet the answer will surprise you and I also bet it won't be close to what you learned in school.

Dr. Mark Bierner from the Boyce Thompson Arboretum is back this week to tell us more about the Arboretum summer programs. He has more info on the Birdwalk and "Learn Your Lizards".
Doug Nintzel from ADOT has good news for Valley commuters this week. There is a connection piece of freeway in the East Valley that is done. He also talks about some Tucson freeway work.
Speaking of Tucson, Greg Patterson, The Espresso Pundit says the newspaper, The Tucson Arizona Star is dimming. Greg takes the gloves off and tells it like it is.
Jody Owen from "The Space You're In" has some wardrobe advice. Many don't need any help but some of us do and she has some very practical tips to make us look better and save some money, too.
"Old Arizona Entertainment" is this week's Trimble's Tales from Marshall Trimble, AZ Official State Historian.
Rory Aikens, Arizona Game and Fish takes us on a little trip this week. He shares with us the wonders of watchable wildlife along the Colorado River.

Catherine the Herb Lady has a cool Arizona Almanac Greatest Recipe. Gazpacho is a summer favorite to cool us off and give us a lot of nutrients.
